Tumblr Breaks Into Top 10 U.S. Networks List At No. 9
“You guys have earned an audience bigger than the biggest TV networks,” wrote Tumblr founder and CEO David Karp in his address to Tumblr users, “and you continue to make some of the most thought provoking, insightful, inspiring, funny, diverse, and compelling content being created today”.
Tumblr registered 16 million unique visitors last month, as well as an impressive 715 million page views. The site also registered a whopping 17 billion impressions, almost half of which were in the U.S.
Other social media sites in Quantcast’s top ten include Facebook, ranked third, and Twitter, ranked fifth. Google claims the top spot, with almost 200 million users in the U.S. over the last month.
Pinterest, the pinboard social site, is currently ranked 12, with over 55 million unique visitors in the last month, but it would be no surprise if they followed Tumblr into the top ten in the coming year.
