360’ Video Technology to Showcase Slash’s Single on Facebook
Former Guns ‘n Roses guitarist Slash is the the most recent music artist to utilise a 360-degree video with the help of Mativision. Using Facebook, the new Slash 360 app will present a single from his new album.
Mativision is claiming to now have the worlds first Facebook integrated 360-degree video platform with Slash taking to the social platform with the single, Standing in the Sun from his new album, Apocalyptic Love.
With an array of 360-degree cameras to film and broadcast live music performances, Internet based Mativision player and iOS apps can allow fans to take control of what they view on their screen.
Mativision have already helped bands such as Muse (see video below), Professor Green, Pendulum and Seasick Steve make their first steps into the 360-degree video evolution.
Using the app Slash 360, the iconic axe man is shifting the concept of his iOS app which was launched in July, and putting it on Facebook.
The current Slash 360 iOS app was named in iTunes Top Grossing App Chart in multiple countries worldwide since it’s launch in the summer.
Music and technology fans can control the view that they have of the band using controls on the screen. Switching between different vantage points and multiple camera views, whilst also zooming in and out of the view and rotating can give the viewer multiple perspectives during the performance.Slash said that “I think the 360 application definitely takes the listener into the world of the musician so that you can actually be in the room where the artist is recording, or in a live situation where you can be all around the stage and behind the stage.”
“And it just gives it a lot more depth and it really sort of puts you in the world of what the artist is doing.”
Slash 360 is now available on Facebook.
