Twitter Adds 100 More Cities To Trending Topics Feature
Twitter has expanded its Trending Topics feature to include 100 more cities around the world. Users are now more able to see what the most popular trending topics are in their area.
The expansion now includes cities such as Frankfurt, Istanbul, and Guadalajara to add to a list of over 200 cities around the world.
The Trending Topics feature of Twitter has become more and more important and influential in helping people to find out what’s happening all over the world.
With more people and companies taking to the social platform and using hashtags to form conversations with different communities and groups, they can discover what others are saying about certain events such as the US Presidential Election, Hurricane Sandy, and more.
Users can select the country or the city that they are in or possibly closest to and will instantly be shown the latest talking point being discussed.
Twitter says that it aims to “capture the pulse of the planet, and the pulse of your city” with the use of Trending Topics. The topics being discussed are meant to be subjects that people care about.
Is your city now included in the Trending Topics feature? How helpful is the feature in your life?
