Quora Updates Tablet App
Question and Answer site Quora has improved its app for tablet devices, with a new interface, “seamless navigation” and faster performance.
In the announcement post on Quora’s blog, Brien Colwell reveals the thinking behind the company’s recent focus on mobile devices:
“More and more, people read and write on Quora while on-the-go. Many people also love using tablets, making a unique Quora experience for tablets one of our most popular requests.”
Quora’s update takes advantage of the landscape view on tablet devices – those with Android 3.1 or higher – by introducing a split panel interface which has, for example, notifications on the left of the question results page and full answers on the right.
The new layout also allows users to write posts and answer questions with the original post or question visible, or reference previous answers when looking for the right person to ask.The search tool has also been improved to help users find the post that best answers their question.
Thanks to the update Quora Blogs, a feature which was released last week, are now accessible on a tablet.
The app update has “significantly improved the performance and speed of Quora for Android”.
