New Twitter - Twitter Testing ‘Fave People’
It is popular on social media sites to follow celebrities and others in the public eye, and Twitter has been the pioneer of this form of communication. For the folks who miss the tweets from the people they care about the most, Twitter are creating a new feature. They are testing a “Fave People” timeline that groups preferred users in one section.

The concept is similar to Twitter’s “Lists” feature, which allows the user to organise their followed accounts into categories such as “celebrities” or “Journalists”.

Twitter are yet to comment on the experiment, but this comes
to no surprise as the site is renowned for quietly testing new features before
rolling them out to the public. Another
fine example of this is recently, when they changed the Twitter design, that is similar to that of both Facebook and
Google+. Despite the site being more
accessible, there is a certain charm that will be lost if they decide to stick
with the newer version of the profile pages.
The main picture and bio will be scaled to the left, and there will be a significantly change to the general layout of the page. This is a departure from Twitter’s signature look, so this may spell a new era for the company as they try and catch up with Facebook in the user stakes.

These changes will more than likely be a success as it looks
as if Twitter plans on changing the general image of their company. It is also a massive risk as they currently
have a strong fan base with the image being one of the main selling
points. There have been various Facebook
cosmetic updates in the past that have not gone down well with their community,
but with Twitter’s popularity at present, it is no doubt that they will ring in
the changes for the better.
