We have people making careers for themselves from the most unlikely of revenues. Professional Gamers and streamers comfortably making six figure salaries isn't out of the ordinary anymore. People and celebrities are making huge profits with their big social media accounts. For example, Charlie Sheen is paid $50,000 for promoted posts he tweets. Not bad, right? That’s more than most of us probably make in a year, made from one tweet. I need more followers.

Now, we have our first person who makes his entire living solely from Snapchat. I wish I could get away with that, unfortunately I think there’d be limited interest in getting sent a few pictures of my dog every day.

Shane McBride who goes by the Snapchat alias of Shonduras gained a huge following on the picture messaging app thanks to his funny snaps often accompanied with Snapchat art. He’s also been tagged as quite the storyteller making good use of Snapchat’s ‘Story’ feature. It’s proven to be so popular that Shane actually makes a living from his snaps.

In a video revealing his tricks, Shane commented on how he enjoys Snapchat because it’s not driven by followers, likes and discussions. He believes that most of social media discussion is driven by negativity and causes people to be unhappy. Whereas Snapchat just revolves around sending funny pictures to make people smile.

He’s not the only one taking to picture based social media to make a living.

There are two guys in New York who make all their money by uploading pictures of their meals to Instagram.

I remain a little perplexed as to how they manage to turn over a profit when they’re eating out for every meal.

Though I can’t deny that I’m so utterly jealous of what they do, I’m starving just reading up about them.

Either way, I think it’s time to get some more snap chatting done.
