Dating App Allows You to Order Dates on Demand

With the emphasis in online dating gradually shifting from
websites to apps, it’s becoming ever clearer that Tinder isn’t the only game in
town. Sure, the side-swiping formula caught everyone’s attention with its
simplicity, directness and undercurrent of cynicism but streamlining isn’t the
only effective approach to online dating and the market is opening up.
You can take the more courteous route with Bumble, the
destiny micro-managing of Happn, the sordidness of Down or any number of other options. Now with the latest version of How About We, you can even order a date
on demand, like a nervous, attractive pizza that you’ll have to put some
serious time in with if you want to eat.
The original concept behind How About We was that you would
post your ideal date on your profile and potential suitors would look and see
if they were up for it. It’s a novel idea, especially if you’re not overly keen
on the introductory online chat which prefaces any actual dating on most apps.
It’s been going for about 5 years but now that Match.com and OkCupid owner IAC
have snapped it up, it’s had a major update.
The most prominent feature is ‘Tonight’, which allows users
to register themselves as available for a date tonight within a certain time
frame, and then the app will sift through all the other nearby users who have
done the same and make a list. All people have to do then is pick the one which
appeals the most and hope that the second party does likewise. With that done
the app will match users up with their best fit and get them chatting so the
date can be arranged proper.
There are a few other new bells and whistles on the new
version as well, the most prominent of which is an updated pricing plan. Now
users who have matched up can message each other, access tonight and the match
feed for free, but have to pay a subscription (from $10 to $20 per month) in
order to message people they aren’t matched with or run targeted searches. How
About We was already a fascinating alternative to Tinder, but with this
rapid-fire functionality it’s now in a class of its own.
