Introducing McBeard: Fullscreen's Invaluable Acquisition
The global media company,
Fullscreen, is one of the largest YouTube networks. They
develop online creators and produce entertainment experiences across a variety
of platforms.
Earlier this week Fullscreen acquired
the social media content creator company that goes by the name "McBeard". The grand
unveiling of the new talent was made on Monday morning before Fullscreen’s 2015
NewFront presentation.

The company also released a Snapchat
of the deal, which included some happy faces and signatures, the caption saying
“We agree. Let’s get to work.”
The team at McBeard are based in
LA and already create some cool content for mega-brands like Coca-Cola and 20th
Century Fox.
The acquisition for Fullscreen is apparently
an attempt to strengthen their ability to develop full-service content programs
for creators and brands including cross-platform storytelling, social asset
creation and social media distribution.
Fullscreen already has 70,000
creators including some other big names like Grace Helbig, The Fine Brothers
and Shane Dawson. The newest name on the block is Eva Gutowski who has made her
name as a YouTube star with her show “MyLifeAsEva.”
The company have stated that they
are excited about working with the McBeard team who have (according to Fullscreen) “mastered
the art and science of creating social content that people love to engage with
and share.”
It seems that the deal was set in
stone by a shared vision between Fullscreen CCO Alec McNayr and McBeard chief
executive Alan Beard. They say they both want social content that serves fans
first.
On top of that, Fullscreen have a
lot to offer and the McBeard team would be silly to turn down the opportunities
that such a large set up can offer: “We’ve grown fast by assembling a team of
social media enthusiasts who create branded content at scale, and Fullscreen’s
rescoures will allow us to grow even faster” says Alan Beard.
When the internet first became a
thing, I’m sure nobody considered that one day we would be paying
people hundreds of thousands of pounds just to come up with different content to fill the
pages we browse every day. But this crazy place we call Earth is always changing. The progression of the World Wide Web has been amazing and
it is these creative opportunities that make it such a new and exciting realm of
possibilities.
