Pinterest Launches Marketing Developer Tools
Pinterest have launched an official program called Marketing Developer
Partners, in the hope to encourage more businesses to use their online
scrapbook for commercial content.

The social network has become a way for users to gather
inspiration and ideas for their future creative endeavours. However, businesses
using it to advertise their products have been few and far between.
Mainly because Pinterest just hadn't made it easy for them.
Mainly because Pinterest just hadn't made it easy for them.
So in a bid to make the social platform more accessible to
businesses, an API tool has been developed to help optimise these accounts and improve
their marketing techniques. The new API allows the 10 chosen partners to sign
into the Pinterest accounts and publish content directly on the behalf of their
clients.
The lucky developers who got access to the tool will now be able to create pins and boards, schedule them and publish them more readily than ever before. However, Pinterest have stated that they don’t have plans to open the API up to any more than these 10 partners just yet.
With the likes of Buffer, Expion, Newscred, Spredfast, Tailwind and Sprinklr as the partners in the program, we can only expect some absolutely fabulous pins. It’s reassuring to see that Pinterest are striving to keep the quality high on their site.
Along with the launch of the marketing developer partners, Pinterest is beta testing an advertising API. This will work similarly to Twitter and Facebook by offering “promoted pins” and allowing brands to post these ads through third party applications.
The future for Pinterest looks pinteresting … (?) and we can only speculate about how much bigger the platform will grow in the coming years.
