Royal Princess Racks up more Tweets than her Big Bro
Twitter has seen over 1.1 Million tweets about the new royal
baby, but let’s hope her big brother doesn't get jealous in the years to come.
As usual, hundreds upon thousands of keen individuals from
all corners of the world have been waiting with baited breath for the arrival
of a new royal.

On the 2nd of May, the announcement that Britain
had a new princess sent social media into an uncontrollable flurry of joy and excitement.
Twitter has not seen anything like this since Prince
George was born in 2013. But statistically this little princess, who goes by
the name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, is a bigger hit than her older brother. The total #RoyalBaby tweets on Saturday mounted up to a colossal
1.1. Million whilst George received a lowly 900,000.
This may be down to the simple reason that Twitter’s user
base has increased dramatically over the last two years. But then again, who’d
have thought the second royal baby would cause more of an uproar than the
first?
I wonder if it had something to do with the fact she was … well, a she.
It seemed like the world was anticipating a baby girl. According to Google there were nearly double the amount of searches for female royal baby terms
than male. There was also an increase in Diana related search terms – spooky eh?
Either way, we're glad the royal baby has arrived and is healthy and happy.
Twitter fame does reach some unlikely heroes but to be trending
before you’re even in the breech position – now that’s something only a royal can
do.
