Tinder Troll Steals Forrest Gump's Life Story

It’s common practice to exaggerate your online dating
profile, but one Tinder user took things to another level by copying the backstory
of Tom Hanks’ character Forrest Gump.
Photos of the impersonator’s account were posted on Imgur on
Wednesday. 'Blake' describes himself as ex-military with hobbies like long distance
running, ping pong, and shrimp fishing. If that isn’t enough of a giveaway, he
adds that he’s trying to get over his childhood sweetheart. Blake likes to make
small talk at the bus stop at weekends, and has one son – Blake Jr.
To anyone familiar with Robert Zemeckis’ epic romance-drama
about the life of a loveable dimwit who is an accidental eyewitness to some of
the defining moments of the second half of the 20th century, Blake’s references
are obvious. But for one smitten Tinder hopeful, this was not the case. In one message,
Blake says ‘you never know what you’re gonna get,’ surely giving himself away.
But 'Arianna' falls for Blake’s story – that, or she wanted to believe that a
person like Forrest could exist in real life. (Most of us do.)
