Engineers - Elon Musk Needs You!
A lot has been said about the modern trend of job searching via social media platforms. LinkedIn is, of course, the first network to spring to mind where employment is concerned, but countless people have secured themselves a job by properly utilising sites such as Facebook and Twitter. What you hear less about is companies or CEOs using such networks to actively seek new employees.
A few days ago, Elon Musk did exactly that. Posting to his own Twitter account, he called out for software engineers for what was described as a "super high priority" job in Tesla's Autopilot division. In order to apply for the role, users were asked to email the address included in the tweet, providing a code sample or a link to previous work within.
Although the offered position focuses on a project for automobiles, Musk has stated that it is software engineers he is looking for, and as such experience with cars is not required. Even better for all his mega-fans (we know there's lots of you out there), Musk has also stated that he will personally run some of the interviews. Elon Musk has be regarded as a highly intelligent, inspiring individual, so that final offer will mean a lot to many of those tempted to apply.
There has been no word as yet as to whether this Twitter recruitment drive has been a success, but if it proves to be then I would expect many other companies to try this approach when they find themselves in need of a particular skill set.

Should mention that I will be interviewing people personally and Autopilot reports directly to me. This is a super high priority.
