The New #Dating #App that Might Confuse You With Camping Equipment
BLINQ, a new dating app from Switzerland is supposed to be able to work out how good looking and how old you are using Artificial Intelligence. You can be rated anywhere between "Hmm," "Nice" and "Godlike."
However, so far, it hasn't been that much of a hit. Particularly for one poor Imgur user whose identity got confused for a "29 year old" tent. The harrowing photo below has been seen over 2 million times.
The "Hot" tent in question has nothing to say on this matter. However, the user tried again having removed his intruder from the picture (after a rather nifty Paint job), this time he was rated as only "Ok."

It must be a tough day when you find out you're less attractive than a tent.
The Swiss dating app was developed with help from the University of Zurich. It works similarly to Tinder, but instead of swiping left or right, you swipe "Hi" or "Bye." Just like Tinder, if the other person says "Hi" back, you have a match.
All the results should be taken with a pinch of salt because as they says on the app's website, "Our algorithm is trained on the pictures of the BLINQ community that is mainly based in Switzerland. In other parts of the world the perception might be very different." So remember guys, tents are hot in Switzerland right now.
Kylie Jenner was put through the app and came out on top as "Godlike." Meanwhile, Nigella Lawson was rated as "Ok" but it did think she was a 34 year old, instead of 56. Not bad, Nigella, not bad at all.

There have been all sorts of theories going round the net about these "algorithms." Some people claim it depends on the light you're using, some reckon it's to do with the symmetry you possess. In one way I can see that the tool could help you pick the best selfie of yourself and attract the most matches, but then again, is it just a confidence destroying tool that is unable to tell the difference between humans and tents? I have reservations about trusting this app.
If you do decide to give the app a go, it can take up to 3 days to get accepted into the community and as BLINQ say themselves: "have fun and don't take the results too seriously."
