#ShareYourEars with Disneyland and Make-A-Wish
Disneyland, which has long described itself as the place "where dreams come true for families, kids and adults alike", is aiming to make dreams come true for the kids of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which provides experiences for terminally ill children.
Announced on the company blog on Tuesday 18th February, the new #ShareYourEars campaign will run until March 14th, and will see Disney donate $5 (up to a $1 Million limit) to Make-A-Wish for every picture shared on social media, complete with Mickey ears, using the hashtag. The campaign has been created to commemorate the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, marking 60 years since the gates first opened.
There are very little limits on just how you snap your pic. Although most people seem to be using the official Mickey hat, others have been making their own out of anything from lollipops to plants, creating some interesting results. A number of celebrities have also got in on the act as the campaign gains traction, helping word spread to more and more people online.
The campaign is proving to be an early success, with the #ShareYourEars hashtag seeing a fair bit of use. If it carries on like this, Disney should manage a sizable contribution to Make-A-Wish by the time the campaign comes to a close.
