Rebel Discovery Wants to Help Online Publishers Share
Tech Crunch |
I don't know about you, but for me asking someone else to share my writing is awkward. It's bad enough when it's an individual, but what if you need another company or blog to spread the word? You need to be able to assure them that they'll get something out of it, right? Well actually, wrong, more people than you might think would be willing to help out for nothing. It's just finding them. Rebel Discovery hopes to aid you in that aspect. This feature has already been available to users of Rebel Roar, Rebel Mouse's social media website service, for a while, but it's only now just being opened to everyone.
This service will work on almost any blogging platform and it works by looking at the tags you use. From those tags, they compose a list of other sites and blogs that also post using those tags. You can then look through those blogs and choose which of them you wish to contact. They might still say no, for whatever reason, but you at least know that they blog about similar things. You have to remember that sharing your stuff will be a benefit to them as well as it allows them to have more content to share with their followers. People want other people to interact because it can widen their audience as well as yours. When it comes to sharing then the benefits far outweigh the issues that can come from just asking.
On the other hand, if you're willing to pay a little money to get your articles promoted, then Rebel Discovery can work with that too. They'll find companies that would like payment and will let you know who they are. This is great because it means if you want to share for free, then you don't have to worry about your suggestions coming up as paid services or vice versa.
According to Rebel Mouse, companies that tested Rebel Discovery had a 20% increase in their view counts so it's definitely worth looking into. Rebel Discovery is still only open to demo, but you can sign up if you wish to try it out.
