Kentucky Derby App Means Convenience for Fans

ProductReviews.net
Fans of the American Triple Crown, pay a special visit to Churchill Downs as soon as you can. The Kentucky Derby has added luxury to its list of amenities through the Churchill Downs Racetrack app. Through the app, users can access mobile tickets, order food and drink (which can be picked up or delivered to your seat), view information and clips about the horses, or pick out a route to the track.

Released 30 April on Opening Night of 2016 Spring Meet, the app aims to make the races even more enjoyable through amenities enjoyed at hand. Thanks to a partnership with Twinspires.com, the app enables betting from the comfort of your seat, at least for iOS. Ever thrown to the wayside, Android will have to content itself with expert analysis of the best pick.

Aside from giving fans a bang for their buck, the app will serve to collect data, rewarding the track for their valiant efforts in creating such an app by siphoning valuable information. Commissioned from VenueNext, the app operates based on their platform while using data analytics from Chicago E15. Combined these companies offer a comprehensive overview of nearly every possible variable within a venue (refreshment demand, buyer habits, mobile capabilities, as well as a load of number-based information).

The Churchill Down Racetrack has not been known to skimp on their race-goers. After spending a massive $18 million on renovations, guests will enjoy an expanded premium seating areas in the Turf Club, Stakes Room, and Clubhouse. Permanent lights have been added to accompany night racing and The Big Board, the world's largest 4k video screen, is now in place. Additionally, the quality and variety of food being served is bolstered. Wonderfully thoughtful of them, eh? Well, these additions can't begin to compare to the VIP-only hidden bar.

Serviced by mixologist Charles Joly,  the bar is a literal mancave and "probably the most expensive part of this whole project because of the materials and finishes" states project manager Mark Giles in an interview with Forbes.
