Ello Add 'Hire Me' and 'Buy' Buttons to Aid Artist Support

This is probably the part where you expect me to tell you that they've started charging a membership fee, or sold their rights on to some massive fizzy drink peddling, orphan munching, Africa ruining conglomerate, but happily they're still doing the whole independent thing, and if anything they've actually enhanced it even further.
Two shiny new buttons have appeared on the platform's handsome facade - 'Hire Me' and 'Buy'. The former enables users to show anyone visiting their profile that they are available to ply their trade, and that anyone can simply drop them a message to open up discussions.
The latter, as you might expect, works more or less the same way it does on Pinterest and other platforms. Users post images of the things they've made and tag them as available to order. The button itself is a little green '$'. Not a lot of room for misinterpretation there.
Neither of these additions are massively revolutionary, or even vaguely, but what you have to remember about Ello is that it exists in its own bubble, it doesn't need to keep up with the Zuckerbergs. An ad-free, non-revenue social network was never going to be able to compete directly with the monetized ones, but as a support network for creatives, Ello has become something of an Eden. Regardless of whether you can get the feature elsewhere or not elsewhere, having it on Ello places it in a different, more isolated zone of appeal.
