Snapchat filters that were once a novelty have transformed into a trademark statement. A Snapchat experience isn't complete until someone is wearing a full set of makeup and a flower crown. Tell me, how many profile pictures have you seen with a flower crown filter?
Social media has become increasingly more integrated into our culture, so much so that even it's found its place on the runway. I'm not talking about simply covering a fashion show via Snapchat, but actually featuring elements of the social media platform on the models.

In the Desigual runway show at New York Fashion Week 2016 on 8th September, they really pushed the envelope. Apart from many models wearing no makeup, a nod to #NoFilter, six of the models walked down the runway in real life Snapchat features. Gordon Espinet, Senior Vice President of Global Artist Training, Development and Makeup Artistry at MAC Cosmetics, selected some of the most popular filters to recreate for the show.
A few of these filters have revolutionised the Snapchat brand, finding continued popularity with millennials. These real-life versions of beloved augmented-reality place Desigual, a Spanish clothing brand, at the forefront of original ideas. That's not to say that creating physical manifestations of Snapchat filters is totally original, but Desigual has recognised that social media is fast becoming a staple in every avenue of life. It's better to fan the flames than to deny its influence.
Here are the positively trendy looks gracing the catwalk.

I write about ideas. My background is in strategic marketing, PR, social media and project management, my future is in ideas. I’m professionally qualified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, holding a postgraduate diploma in strategic marketing. After working for the BBC I spent a lot of time in the education sector. I’ve flirted with freelance work and consultancy but the BIG thing I’ve noticed is that people want practical results (ridiculously fast). I help boutique business owners and online entrepreneurs. One powerful idea can change your world, last a lifetime or even create a legacy. You can find me on Twitter @The_Ideas_Girl
