Twitter Officially Launches Bookmarks Feature Globally
If you cast your mind back to October of 2017 you may remember
that we reported on an intriguing new feature destined for the Twitter platform,
specifically the ability to bookmark tweets to view at a later point in time.
News first broke about the #SaveForLater feature on Twitter
via user @jesarshah, who took to the platform to reveal the prototype
version of the feature developed during Twitter’s Hack Week. He did note that
the final version would likely differ quite substantially from his team’s
initial prototype, but this was our first hint of things to come.
When we first reported on the subject we were unable to give
a concrete launch date for the feature, with Twitter keeping the secret closely
guarded. However it seems that day is now upon us as the feature has been officially
rolled out across all of Twitter’s platforms and apps worldwide as of today.
To make use of the new #SaveForLater feature, simply click
on the new “share” icon found to the right of the Favourite (heart) button.
From here, you’ll have the option to share the tweet in a variety of ways, or
of course bookmark it for later perusal.
A bookmarking feature has long been requested by Twitter’s
user base, so hopefully the new update will satiate their appetites for added
convenience. Only time will tell if the new feature proves popular, but I
imagine it’s pretty hard to go wrong on this one.
